In an ideal world...

... we would each be allowed to use our best skills. I am fortunate that my school needs my skills as a librarian, because I am not a great media specialist. Pinterest. Bah! I am only reluctantly tweeting, and I bow before all of our high school librarians and their awesome internet resources.

That said, this conversation with my high school freshman made me giggle. It IS possible to brain wash children if one starts early.

"I think my high school librarian suffers from low self-esteem"

"Really?"

"Yeah, she keeps referring to herself as a media specialist, and to the library as a media center."

Flying pink cute superhero girl isolated on white"Most people think that's a GOOD thing."

Scoffs loudly. "Come on. You know everyone really wants to be a LIBRARIAN."

"Really? Why?"

"Because librarians have super powers. Everyone knows THAT."

Indeed.

Heh heh heh. That is hilariously awesome! I do a lot of social media (for myself and the library) but I am thankful I have never been called on to tweet. I don't get the point at all.

My mom was a librarian, and she definitely had super powers!

I wouldn't be an IRON GUY if I weren't a librarian!
