Armchair BEA- Blogging Horizons and Short Stories

This might be a short post: even though I've been blogging for eight years, I don't think I can really up my game. Reading and posting at least one middle grade fiction book every day takes a lot of time. The most important thing about blogging, to me, is to get the titles of new books out into the world.

I would like to go to KidlitCon in October, but it involves flying and talking to people, neither of which are comfortable for me. Still, I'd love to meet my many "creepy internet friends" and I know many of them will be in Sacramento.

Maybe next year I'll hit the ACTUAL BEA and also manage to get on Ellen and create a huge internet sensation with my blog. I do think I have a really good blog, but I'm not all that good at self promotion.

As for short stories and novellas-- not a huge fan, but it was fun to read the Ally Carter novella where the characters from Heist Society met the Gallagher Girls!

Am currently setting up a garage sale for my cross country team, so haven't been a good BEA player today. Off to comment on posts!

  1. I went to KidLitCon last year, and it was a lot of fun. (You don't have to talk during presentations!) I probably won't go this year, but that's because I would have to fly. It was convenient when it was in my state.

  2. I hear what you're saying. I've been blogging over 7 years, not much more I can handle. I'm am focusing on reading and studying more about certain history and events.

  3. OMG! I didn't even know that a novella where the characters from Heist Society met the Gallagher Girls existed... this is why I wish that novellas that are part of series would all be published in print. I just feel like I have a hard time hearing about them when they are just published as ebooks.

  4. Posting and reading one MG book a day takes a lot of time. I usually only manage to have between 1-3 reviews in a week and I read about the same amount of books in a week.
btw I think your blog looks great, I love the colour green and your header is awesome!

  6. I think your blog is awfully great, and I think you really should come to Kidlitcon because goodness knows we are all (except Pam) a bunch of eccentric introverts and it is true that flying sucks, but it is worth it!

I will be at BEA next year, though, so if you do go I will at least get to meet you then!
