I was in upper elementary, junior high, and high school in the 70s.

I spent my earlier elementary years in the 60s and the fashion for kids was even worse.

But I miss it though.

I was in our local Walmart last fall when a group of teenagers came in all gussied up. I stopped one of them and asked what was up and he told me it was the night of the homecoming dance. I guess they thought is was fun to come into Walmart before they went to the dance. Go figure! But the dresses and makeup that the girls were wearing. Sleeveless, short, with tulle, heavy makeup. They were all cute and seemed like very nice kids but looked a bit tartish and way too grownup to me.

I miss the days of Gunne Sax dresses for school dances. :)

Cheryl
Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08310377995959127793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22559214.post-91822579537499194082014-01-09T11:30:45.081-05:002014-01-09T11:30:45.081-05:00Laughing hard over your images of the leisure suit...Laughing hard over your images of the leisure suits and shooooort skirts! My husband tried to explain these plaid monstrosities to our kids, but it was tough to convey. Fun post! Middle and high school were the 80s, and I LOVE telling the kids about the outfits I wore. Leggings with baggy sweaters! Leg warmers! Skinny jeans! (Oh wait: they're wearing all that now....)

Thanks for the trip down fashion memory lane! :-DMelissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00217383813263874657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22559214.post-10002722244734558972014-01-09T07:09:04.089-05:002014-01-09T07:09:04.089-05:00I bet kids who like sci-fi and boys will like The ...I bet kids who like sci-fi and boys will like The Lost Planet.
